UEI College in Oceanside is proud to host its 2nd annual Community Car Care event, which promises to be even bigger than last year’s. Instructors and students from the college’s Automotive Technician program, along with professionals from various local automotive repair businesses, will provide free 14-point vehicle inspections and make recommendations to address potential trouble spots.
“As a college, we are committed to fostering not only academic excellence but also a spirit of community and compassion,” said UEI College Oceanside’s Executive Director, Jaclyn Marquez. “Hosting this Community Car Care event reflects our dedication to supporting and uplifting those around us. It’s an opportunity for us to all come together, extend a helping hand, and make a positive impact beyond our campus walls. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community.”
The 14-point vehicle inspection that students, instructors, and local mechanics will provide includes checking the functionality of basic vehicle equipment, filters, drive shaft, brakes, suspension, exhaust, steering, fluid levels, battery condition, and more. In addition, child safety care car seat inspections will be available, as will additional vehicle maintenance tips.
This event is timely and relevant, as many parents are preparing to bring their kids back to school, and car safety and functionality is top of mind for many families.
UEI’s Automotive Technician training program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on shop experience they need to become entry-level automotive technicians. The automotive training program provides students with instruction on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing automobiles. The program combines the theoretical aspects of automotive diagnostics with hands-on training in a shop environment, enabling students to service and repair any type of automobile. The short-term program, which can be completed in as few as 10 months, familiarizes students with basic and advanced automotive technologies through a curriculum covering engine theory, fuel systems, electrical diagnostics, ignition systems, tune-ups, automatic transmissions, wheel alignment, and onboard computerized engine control. Additionally, UEI College trains students in various other programs within healthcare and trades and helps connect graduates with employers in their career upon graduation. Learn more at uei.edu.
